Defenders of Europe - I Difensori d'Europa ( titolo provvisorio) è un progetto cross-mediale per serie a fumetti, cartoons, videogames e derivati con protagonisti supereroi e personaggi europei. Ideato da Fabrizio De Fabritiis (già autore di Capitan Novara, il più famoso supereroe italiano), Defenders of Europe rivisita e ricontestualizza il genere supereroistico in ambito europeo. I protagonisti della serie, infatti, sono eroi e supereroi i cui poteri, ma, soprattutto, le caratteristiche fisiche, comportamentali e culturali, definiscono in modo preciso il paese o luogo di provenienza di ciascun personaggio. Inoltre, grande importanza, nella costruzione dei personaggi e della storia, hanno i miti e le leggende della vecchia Europa. Il progetto non esclude la possibilità di espansioni con supereroi e personaggi di tutti gli altri continenti.Il progetto Defenders of Europe - I Difensori d'Europa è stato selezionato per partecipare alla fase finale del concorso PITCH ME! a CARTOONS ON THE BAY 2010, arrivando fra i primi 12 progetti.
Defenders of Europe (provisional title) is a unique and cross-medial superhero project. The artistic director and creator is Fabrizio De Fabritiis, the Italian author of Capitan Novara, the most
famous Italian superhero.The superheroes the main characters of this project, are men and women who come from different European Countries. They have their own specific superpowers which are inherited from their cultural background and individual life history. Most of them have features in common with folkloristic legends and old European myths. During the development of the project, other charachters and superheroes from the other Countries can take a part in the series.
The Defenders of Europe project was one of the 12 contenders at the PITCH ME! award at CARTOONS ON THE BAY 2010.
